Summer Camp Theatre Director, Vocal Director, and/or Choreographer
Type: Seasonal (July 6 – August 29, 2026 - Exact assignments depend on specific camp dates; camps run in 1- or 2-week sessions)
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Rochester, NY
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Additional paid prep time and occasional meetings outside of camp hours

Position Summary:
Join OFC Creations Theatre Center for the 2026 ROC Summer Theatre Experience — the largest theatre summer camp program in New York State, welcoming young performers from ages 4 to 18.
We are currently seeking passionate and experienced Theatre Directors, Vocal Directors, and Choreographers (or multidisciplinary artists) to lead dynamic, engaging, and high-energy summer camps. These positions are focused on mentoring young performers while working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and creative environment and creating high quality productions.

Key Responsibilities:
Depending on your role, responsibilities may include:
Theatre Director
Direct 1- or 2-week musical theatre camps culminating in a fully staged performance.
Lead campers through blocking, staging, and character development.
Collaborate with fellow teaching artists and camp staff to ensure a cohesive production.
Create a supportive, inclusive, and fun environment for all ages and experience levels.
Vocal Director
Teach music and vocal performance to campers of varying skill levels.
Provide vocal warmups, teach harmonies, and coach solo/ensemble singing.
Work with the Theatre Director to support character interpretation through vocal choices.
Minimal piano skills required
Choreographer
Design age-appropriate, engaging choreography for musical theatre productions.
Teach and clean dance numbers with campers in daily rehearsals.
Ensure all students, regardless of experience, feel confident and included in choreography.
Utilize choreography to tell the story and ensure all students are involved and featured
Qualifications:

At least two years (or two productions worth) of experience directing, music directing, or choreographing theatre productions required.

At least one year’s experience working with students

Experience with leading and controlling large groups through positivity

Ability to adapt artistic plans to fit a fast-paced camp schedule.

High energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Professionalism, reliability, and collaboration with OFC staff and fellow artists.

First Aid certification, OFC will pay for training if you do not already have it

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US

Benefits:

Part time seasonal role at $17.50-$20/hour; typically 20 to 38 hours per week
