Private Lesson Teacher

Type: Part Time
Reports to: Management & Executive Management                               

Location: OFC Creations Theatre Center, Rochester, NY

​

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking passionate and experienced instructors to teach private lessons in one or more of the following disciplines: Acting, Singing (with focus in musical theatre), Piano, and Dance. Instructors will work one-on-one with students ages 7 and up, including teens and adults, at the OFC Creations Theatre Center in Rochester, NY.

Instructor may also have opportunities to teach and direct group classes and musical productions throughout the school year and summer camp season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and personalized lessons tailored to each student’s goals and skill level

  • Maintain consistent scheduling and open communication with students and families

  • Provide feedback and support for student development and progress

  • Collaborate with OFC staff to align instruction with performance and educational programming

  • Prepare students for showcases, recitals, or masterclasses

Qualifications:

  • Background in one or more of the following: acting, vocal performance (with focus in musical theatre), piano, dance (musical theatre preferred)

  • Prior teaching or coaching experience (private or group settings)

  • Ability to work with a range of ages and skill levels, and experience working with kids

  • Strong communication, professionalism, and a positive, encouraging attitude

  • Evening and/or weekend availability is preferred 

  • Reliable transportation 

  • Must be 18 or older

Wardrobe Crew Member

Type: Part Time (with option to transition to full time)
Reports to: Management & Executive Management                               

Location: OFC Creations Theatre Center, Rochester, NY

Position Summary:
OFC is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Wardrobe Crew Member to join our production team. This role is perfect for someone with sewing and tailoring skills, a love for theatre, and strong organizational abilities. You’ll help bring productions and educational programs to life by managing and maintaining costume stock, fitting and altering costumes, and supporting both Broadway in Brighton shows and youth educational productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organization of OFC’s in-house costume stock

  • Lead load in and load out of costume/wardrobe needs for dressing rooms for assigned shows

  • Track costume pieces and ensure they are properly labeled, stored, and returned post-show

  • Help uphold the visual and professional quality of all productions

  • Broadway in Brighton Series (professional productions):

    • Coordinate and handle fittings for assigned shows

    • Tailor and alter existing costumes to fit Broadway in Brighton actors 

      • Hemming and fitting comfortably to the actor​

      • Adding or adjusting quick rigs when needed

    • Inspect rentals upon delivery and handle shipments of rental returns

    • Run wardrobe crew for dress rehearsals and performances for assigned shows (maintenance, quick changes, laundry)

  • Student Performers Series (educational shows):

    • Pull package costumes from stock and ensure inventory is accurate​

    • Fit and assign costumes to students for applicable roles

    • Source additional costumes as needed from purchasing, borrowing or pulling from other stock/packages

    • Run wardrobe for dress rehearsals and performances
       

Qualifications:

  • Experience in costume design, wardrobe, sewing, and/or tailor/alterations is required

  • Basic to advanced sewing and garment alteration skills required

  • Comfortable working with children and teens in a fast-paced theatre setting

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Evening and/or weekend availability

  • Reliable transportation 

  • Must be 18 or older

Teaching Artist (Choreography)

Type: Part Time
Reports to: Management & Executive Management                               

Location: OFC Creations Theatre Center, Rochester, NY

Position Summary:
OFC Creations is seeking a dynamic and passionate Teaching Artist with a focus in Choreography to join our educational team. The Teaching Artist will work with students ages 7 to 18 across musical productions, classes, and theatre camps, guiding them through learning and performing choreography in a supportive, energetic, and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Choreograph musical numbers for youth theatre productions and classes

  • Teach and break down choreography to match students' varying skill levels including modifying choreography for students of different ages and abilities

  • Support students in learning proper dance technique, musicality, and performance quality

  • Collaborate with directors, vocal directors, and production staff to make the best quality product

  • Provide a safe and encouraging learning environment for all participants

  • Assist with staging, blocking, and movement coaching as needed

  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and communication with students and families
     

Qualifications:

  • Background in dance, musical theatre, choreography, or performing arts education

  • Experience working with students ages 7–18

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to create age-appropriate and engaging choreography for a variety of shows

  • Positive, patient, and flexible attitude in a fast-paced educational setting

  • Evening and weekend availability

  • Reliable transportation 

  • Must be 18 or older
