About the Program:
Utilizing the Reggio Emilia approach to learning, we put the students in the front seat of creation and have the children’s interest propel the group. Using the theme as a catalyst, the students are challenged through songs, games, and movement to access their cognitive skills and memory recall. The children collaboratively write a show, vote on ideas, and solve the characters problems.
They learn several songs and dances, and every child has a chance to perform or speak independently to boost self confidence and public speaking skills.
We utilize games and storytelling to teach important theatrical premises to the students, and understand and meet the children’s need, desire, and right to wiggle and get moving. We also strive to teach the students, even at this young age, that there are no right and wrong ways to create art, as long as we’re safe and having fun.
Perfect for kids coming out of their shell as well as for those ready to take centerstage and be in the spotlight!

Meet Miss Holly!
The Director of the Pint Sized Performersᵀᴹ
Miss Holly Lowden is a Rochester native, with decades of teaching experience with students of all ages. She originated OFC’s Pint Sized Performers program in 2016, and has brought the love and magic of theatre to multitudes of early childhood aged children. You may also see her working with youth as a director and choreographer as well. She has taught and directed at OFC, RAPA, Spotlight Theatre Arts, A Magical Journey Through Stages, MT Ed, and countless school, church, and rec programs. Lowden is a certified Mental Health First Aid responder, and a trained Intimacy Coordinator through Theatrical Intimacy Education. She is actively pursuing her diploma in intimacy choreography. She is also a fight choreographer for youth and adults. She has studied and holds certifications with the Society of American Fight Directors. As a performer, Holly has frequented the stages here at OFC, RAPA, Greece Performing Arts, Last Fool Productions, Webster Theatre Guild, Neighborhood Acting Company, Out of Pocket, and many Fringe Festivals. Favorite roles include Kate Monster/Lucy in Avenue Q, Babe in The Pajama Game, and Gloria in Damn Yankees. She is ecstatic to be a teaching artist here at OFC, and to have a front row seat to watch so many talented students (young and not so young) succeed, learn, and grow in the theatrical environment.

Program Policies
Students do not need to be able to read, we will help them with the script!
Classes and camps are held as "closed rehearsals," meaning that parents do not stay in the rehearsal room. Parents can leave and come back at pick up time, or relax at our cafe next door.
It is crucial that Pint Sized students are 100% fully potty trained, and are able to complete every step of the toileting and self-care process, including wiping and buttoning/pulling up their own pants. The staff are not able to assist your child, nor are they able to go into the bathroom with your child. As parents are not able to stay for class, it is not easy to hand them off to you in case of a bathroom need. We need participants to be completely and fully potty trained. Putting a student in a pull up is not an alternative in this policy.
Students must be at least four years old to participate, we cannot permit students that are 3 years old into the program. Students are going to create and perform a full show from start to finish. Miss Holly needs to ensure students are going to be able to do this, and is also the reason why students must be at least four years old to participate.
