Returning to OFC, Garrett Clayton is best known from Teen Beach Movie, The Fosters, and Hairspray LIVE!

A miserly and miserable, ever-so-cantankerous Grinch has observed the despicable Christmas joy of the Whos with disdain, from a distance, for decades. Enough! In this favorite holiday story, filled with toe-tapping music and Seussian rhymes, he conceives a dastardly plot to destroy the holiday they love. It’s the smallest of the Whos, tiny Cindy Lou, who extends a hand. Through the combination of kindness and community, we witness not only a change in the course of Who-History, but the size and capacity of the cantankerous Grinch’s heart.
Based on the iconic animated film and beloved children’s book, Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, the musical features the hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the original animated television special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos.

The first Rochester-produced production of Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical is under the direction of Eric Vaughn Johnson and David Autovino, featuring a cast of professional performers from across the country. OFC is one of the first regional theatres to present this new musical.

Christopher Sergel’s play is a faithful adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s coming-of-age-novel about rival teenage gangs in 1960s Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Greasers come from troubled working-class backgrounds, contrasted with the Socials, whose members are from upper-middle-class families. Like the novel, the play centers on 14-year-old Ponyboy Curtis, a member of the Greasers gang, as he recounts the violent aftermath after his friend Johnny fatally stabbed Socials member Bob. The characters—Dallas, who wasn't tough enough; Sodapop, the happy-go-lucky dropout; Bob, the rich kid whose arrogance cost him his life; Ponyboy, the sensitive, green-eyed Greaser who didn't want to be a hood - This is a play about young people who are not yet hopeless about latent decency in the midst of struggle.
Please note, this is a stage play and not the musical version.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
For ASL Interpretation, please email info@ofccreations.com to initiate scheduling interpreters; OFC Creations does not pre-schedule interpreted dates at this time unless someone else has already requested them. Interpreters at OFC Creations Theatre Center are located House Right; Kodak Center Studio Theatre interpreters are located House Left. Call the box office with questions. Interpreters at The Old Farm Cafe are placed differently based on each show, contact us for details.
OFC will hire ASL interpreters at a maximum of one show per production.
We require all requests to be submitted with at least three (3) weeks notice in order to properly staff, any accommodation with less than three weeks notice cannot be guaranteed. OFC may add additional interpreted performances only at its discretion.

FM Assistive Listening
OFCTC is equipped with an FM assistive listening system that amplifies and clarifies sound by cutting down ambient noise and may be used at any seat. Ear speakers and induction neck loops (for patrons who use hearing aids and cochlear implants with a T-switch) may be borrowed from the Tech Booth by notifying the House Manager on duty on a "first come, first served" basis; reservations prior arrival are not available at this time. Ask your audiologist whether your hearing aid or cochlear implant has a T-switch and how to use it with an FM assistive device as OFC staff will be unable to troubleshoot compatibility with your specific device
