2020-2021 Classes & Programs

OFC Creations is truly focused on creating new opportunities for students and families this fall, in a time that we need the arts the most. Many new options have been added to OFC's offerings including after school programs, evening programs, weekend workshops, full show experiences, two-day programs (where you put on a full themed show in only two days), and more! All programs starting in September will be held at the new OFC Creations Theatre Center (3450 Winton Place, Roch NY 14623). New registrations for OFC programs as of July 1st are nonrefundable and nontransferable. If the Finger Lakes Region takes a step back due to COVID-19 and is no longer in Phase 4, OFC will reassess upcoming programs and offer options to enrolled families.

The OFC Creations Theatre Center is now equipped with new HEPA filters to help battle the spread of COVID-19.

As soon as you register, you are automatically in the show. Auditions are held on the first day of the program (where applicable).

Dance Intensive With Broadway's Frankie Paparone

Break out into your musical theatre style with our Broadway themed dance workshops! Each week students will explore a new Broadway musical with original choreography or similar dance moves to the show. Students of all experience levels are welcomed to move and groove with us! Group size will be limited to 10-15 participants and safety precautions will be followed as outlined in our Fun & Safety Plan.

Sunday, November 8 - 2PM-4PM - Lady Gaga Dance Workshop

Featuring the music and iconic dances from Lady Gaga's music videos and live performances. 

Saturday, November 21 - 10AM-12PM - Beyonce Dance Workshop

Featuring the music and iconic dances from Beyonce's music videos and live performances. 

Friday, November 27 (Black Friday) - 3PM-5PM - TikTok Dance Workshop

Focused on perfecting the latest trending dances from the TikTok app. During the last few months with plenty of time at home, the app has become a popular way for kids to show off their dance moves and stay active and engaged with their peers. TikTok is a popular entertainment app where people post short videos of whatever they want. Something very popular on TikTok is dancing. In this class we will learn various popular trending dances from TikTok so that you can go and make your own videos.

The Wicked Witch of the West wasn't always that way, and when a ghostly figure whisks her away on a journey through her past, present, and future, she may find a second chance on Christmas Eve. Can familiar faces help to melt the Witch's heart, or is she doomed to melt away herself? A Christmas classic gets a thrilling transformation, set in the magical world of L. Frank Baum's Oz books.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

 

About the director, Sarah Reynolds: A professional actress for more than 30 years, and a member of Actor’s Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild, Sarah appeared on Broadway as Louise in Sondheim’s Pulitzer Prize winning musical, Sunday in the Park with George with Mandy Patinkin and Maryanne Plunkett. Sarah later originated the role of Ethel Roosevelt on Broadway in Teddy and Alice with Len Cariou at the Minskoff Theater. However, Sarah is best known for her performance in the starring role of Annie in the 1984 National Touring Company produced by Columbia Pictures.

Superheroes to the Rescue Pint Sized

Superheroes to the Rescue is perfect for your first theatre experience! Focusing on skills in acting, singing, and dance, students will have fun while exploring stage confidence, public speaking, and putting on a short show. Superheroes to the Rescue will explore the background of our favorite heroes, creating our own hero and picking their superpowers, and making discoveries on how we can all be heroes in real life. Students do not need previous theatre experience to sign up. Perfect for beginners and for returning stars!

Be More Chill

Jeremy Heere is just an average teenager. That is, until he finds out about "The Squip," a tiny supercomputer that promises to bring him everything he desires most: a date with Christine, an invite to the raddest party of the year and a chance to survive life in his suburban New Jersey high school. But is being the most popular guy in school worth the risk? Be More Chill is based on the novel by Ned Vizzini.

Open for students ages 11-18, limited to only 15 students.
Tuition: $100 per student

 

Students are invited to join guest artists, Kara Lindsay and Kevin Massey, in a powerful and impactful Broadway masterclass! Students will sing and receive individual feedback and coaching on a 32-bar song cut from Broadway’s Kara Lindsay and Kevin Massey. Kara and Kevin will focus on if your song showcases your unique personality and vocal range then will go into how to interpret a song and break it down into acting beats. The masterclass will conclude with a Q&A with both Kara and Kevin.

Students will need to prepare one musical theatre 32-bar cut song and bring appropriate sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.

In only one month, put on a full show! Stephen Sondheim’s story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

One of Sondheim's most popular works, Into the Woods is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actors adept at dark comedy.

Based on the popular Disney Channel Movies, Descendants: The Musical is set present-day, in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and The Beast, offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring including Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos – the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar. Should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!

 

A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop Of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre-goers for over 30 years.
