Set in a northern English mining town against the background of the 1984 miners' strike, Billy Elliot is the inspirational story of a young boy's struggle against the odds to make his dream come true. Follow Billy's journey as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, where he discovers a passion for dance that inspires his family and community... and changes his life forever.

With a powerful storyline, rousing songs, and sensational choreography, Billy Elliot has blown audiences away across the globe. This ten-time Tony winner, including Best Musical is a spectacular show with the heart, humor and passion leading it to be named TIME Magazine's "Best Musical of the Decade!"

OFC’s season headliner, Billy Elliot, is based on the international smash-hit film, and features a score by music legend Elton John. Billy Elliot is an astonishing theatrical experience that will stay with you forever.

***Billy Elliot The Musical was written with mature language that reflects a specific culture and moment in time to advance the characters and plot. In accordance with Music Theatre International and the approval of Lee Hall (Books & Lyrics), OFC’s production has adjusted some of this language (specifically removal of the "F" word) due to the youth cast members and expectation that many families will wish to attend this production. Please note, other mature language is still in this production.

OFC’s Billy Elliot will be the first Rochester produced production.
